WGA News
The SCCWGA hosted the Lakeside women's golfers on April 30 for the Rally for the Cure. Brenda Spaulding did an excellent job of directing the event which was attended by 55 women golfers. Winners from SCC were: Annette Flaming, Blanche Hughes, Mary Williams, Kathy Brorsen, Jodi Deer, Peggy McCormick and Malinda Fischer. Congratulations!
On May 13-14, the SCCWGA will be hosting the WOGA State Team Cup. Twenty teams of four women from all over the state are descending on our facility/golf course to play. The format for Monday is 18 holes of Fourball followed by 9-hole singles matches in the afternoon. there will be 18-hole Foursomes played (alternate shot) on Tuesday morning followed by a luncheon and awards. The Stillwater Country Club team of Blanche Hughes, Annette Flaming, Jeanette Kiser and Ann Watkins will be in the battle.
The Tuesday Evening Women's Golf group continues to grow with the addition of Luann Meyers. Welcome! It is not too late for you to sign up for this group and remember no experience is necessary. the cost is $20 for the entire season. Malinda Fischer is a great example of starting to play the game and finding immediate success.
Here's a challenge for the morning group of SCCWGA...find an evening golfer who might be willing to play in the two-day Memorial weekend tournament hosted by Chuck. Its all done using handicaps and is just for fun. After all, the best way to get your feet wet is to get your feet wet! In the meantime hope to see you on the course, of course-Ann Watkins.

From Your Board of Directors
Greetings from your Stillwater Country Club Board of Directors,
It seems like just a few months ago we started the renovation plans for our clubhouse. However, we are already scheduling our annual membership meeting for Thursday,May 23rd in our new clubhouse. We encourage everyone to plan on attending the annual meeting and we are scheduling it for 7pm so our membership can have time to enjoy a great meal before the meeting. Everyone should have received the items to be voted upon in your billing statement this month, but we still encourage our membership to attend as there will be a few other items for discussion. Your input will give your Board of Directors some direction in order to implement your desired opinions.
Our membership numbers are well ahead of projection and keep increasing weekly. The annual Blackjack Tournament is completely full and has a waiting for the first time in many years.
Financially the club continues to thrive with the increased membership numbers, increased outside events, plus the increased usage of the clubhouse facilities by our membership. We appreciate our members bringing ther friends out to enjoy our new clubhouse. It truly is a good time to be a member of Stillwater Country Club and experience all the amenities offered at the club.
See you at the club,
Your Stillwater Country Club Board of Directors

From Your GM
The news is all good at your Stillwater Country Club! Last time I checked our membershp had risen to 254, which is well ahead of our projections. There isn't a week that goes by, that we haven't signed several new members and had many other inquires.
Our event bookings are tremendous. Currently this is putting a strain on our employees, but that's a good and fixable problem.
We are currently intervewing for several of our key positions- a marketing position- which has been vacant for some time, a food and beverage manager- Jill has left due to health issues, an assistant golf professional postion- Trent is leaving due to family issues, and Chef Rick will be leaving us at some point in May to move to California. We have made an offer to a talented Chef who grew up in Stillwater. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University-one of the top culinary schools in America and studied under several famous chefs in Arizona and the Denver area. We certainly look forward to him preparing his culinary delights for SCC. Due to this, the timing for our new menu has been delayed. Please welcome Chef Jonathan Araujo to SCC in early May. When we get a better understanding of exactly when Chef Rick is leaving, we will let the membership know of he time and date for a farewell celebration.
See you at the club,
Chuck Coatney |

From the Pro
Although the weather has been sporadic, golf activity has certainly picked up. Our Earlybird winners for the month of April were the team of Dave Reynolds, Kenny Josey, John Hughes, and Steve O'Neil. The following weekend was the Spring member/member, and there was a tie between the teams of Terry Deer/Don Croka and Steve Flaming/Jon Vaught. Congratulations to all of our winners and to Bob Phillps who made is 2nd hole-in one in less than year. Elsewhere in this bulletin find information for our summer junior golf program.
