WGA News
The Stillwater Country Club Women's Golf Association membership registration coffee is Tuesday, Feb 5, from 10AM-11:45AM. The president of the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association from Oklahoma City will be on hand to speak to the group about the benefits of being a member of WOGA. Brenda Spaulding will instruct the group on new play day activities.
VERY EXCITING!... The SCCWGA plans to expand their membership by adding a nine-hole Tuesday evening women's group. This is for working women or women whose young children keep them from enjoying golf on Tuesday morning. It is strictly FOR FUN. Chuck and his staff will offer clinics to get new golfers started and to freshen up the games of veteran golfers. Women are welcome to enjoy dinner and drinks after play. Child care will be available for a minimal charge. CALL A FRIEND and come sign up for this group on Tuesday evening, February 5, from 5:45-7:00PM.
Annette Flaming is chairing interclub this year. We need to field a tough team for her. The Women's Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame will also be holding the "Women Teaching Women" event at SCC on Monday, April 22. LPGA certified teaching pros will be here to put on the clinic for $100 which includes 3 hours of instruction, continental breakfast, box lunches and an optional 9-hole scramble in the afternoon.
On Monday and Tuesday, May 13-14, SCC will host the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Team Championship. Teams of four women each from clubs all over the state will be competing to win the cup from the 2012 winner, Muskogee Country Club. Stillwater Country Club will have a team in the tournament. If you would be willing to be a ball spotter, help load and unload women's golf bags and/or shuttle to the driving range and back, please contact Ann Watkins.
Tuesdays are women's golf days. Hope many of you will sign up to join us this year. Remember, the first play day - March 5 - is just around the corner.

Ambassdors Group
Do you like to meet new people? Would you be interested in helping to welcome new members to our club?
Stillwater Country Club is looking to form an Ambassadors Group, we would like to make sure that new members are greeted and welcomed into our club. Some of these people are well known in the community, but sometimes they are new to the community. Either way we want them to know they are a welcomed part of our group. So if you would like to meet some new friends over dinner, pick up some new players for your tennis game, or event hunt for the new golf partner, this committee is for you.
With the great things Stillwater Country Club has to offer, we want to see if you will help us share the news.
Thanks,
Collett Campbell

Don't Forget Your Servers!
We are lucky here at SCC to have a great wait staff in our food and beverage (F&B) operations. One of the ways we have been able to attract and retain quality staff is by offering higher hourly wages than our competition, important since our hours of operation are shorter. The 15% service charge on your food and beverage tickets helps fund this and other F&B operational expenses. This charge has been confused by some as a tip, since the 15% figure is the same as what many consider a standard tip. So, if you feel it appropriate, don't forget to add something extra for your server before you sign your check. We know its well-deserved and will be appreciated.

From Your Board of Directors
The renovation continues on the East Room, and will be finished with an appearance similar to the rest of hte clubhouse. This will give us extra space we need for our larger events. This renovation should be completed in the next 4 to 5 weeks and will be a welcome addition. It will allow our mixed grill area to remain open for our membership, while we are hosting private events in the other areas of the clubhouse.
Construction on the patio firepit should begin in a few days which along with the new furniture, will give us a greatly expanded space adjacent to the mixed bar and grill area.
See you at the club,

From Your GM
Good to see all the activity at the club. Members are enjoying their new surroundings and showing things off to their friends. To reward our members for these referrals, I would like to introduce a thank you program. Refer a new member who joins, and we will treat both parties to dinner on us, up to $50 a couple!
Don't forget to make reservations for our Valentines Dinner on February 14th. Of course, we will have great food, but we have arranged for special entertainment to make the evening even more special, a violinist and a harpist will play while you dine.
Later this month, February 23 and 24, we will offer a member/guest day. Bring a prospective member to the club and we will treat them to free golf and a free buffet dinner.
We have hired a new Food and Beverage Director, Jill Roberts comes to us straight from the Hotel and Restaurant school at OSU. Be sure and meet her, she is anxious to serve our great members and see that all your needs are met.
See you at the club,
Chuck Coatney |

From the Pro
Welcome to February and as the winter days dwindle, we look forward to better golfing weather ahead. All of the 2013 equipment is arriving-from new drivers to new balls. The new TaylorMade R1 driver is here, and along with the longest ever driver, it is sporting new OSU colors. The "Lethal" golf ball is the longest yet, so be sure to give it a try.
Ladies, if you haven't made it into the new shop, you don't know what your missing. Patty has expanded the women's lines to include purses, jewelry, scaves, and much more. Her new linen clothing line should be here this week.
