A New Method to Kill "The Bugs"
Before They Kill You!

Up until now, dentistry has focused on removing the bacteria from your teeth with brushing, flossing, and regular hygiene appointments. Trying to scrape off all of the bacteria is difficult, if not impossible. Did you know that between 1,000,000 and 10,000,000 bacteria can fit on the head of a pin? And, that's small enough to fit right into your bloodstream. Oral bacteria has been found to have an effect on heart valves, aneurysms, diabetes, infected joints, and much more, especially if you have gingivitis or periodontitis.
So, if we can't mechanically remove all the bacteria, what do we do? The answer is to kill the bugs before they kill you. This method of prevention has been used for over five years with amazing results. It's called Perio Protect®. We are extremely excited with this NEW weapon against dental and systemic disease! No matter how bad your gums and teeth are, you can to begin using Perio Protect® right away. And, yes, you can even use it if you haven't had a hygiene visit in awhile.
What's the next step? You come in for an exam and we take impressions to make your custom made appliance. They look similar to a retainer or whitening tray. Then, on your next visit, we will provide you with your tray(s) and a specially, formulated Hydrogen Peroxide gel. You'll be instructed to wear the tray(s) 10 - 15 minutes, 2-4 times a day, depending on how good or bad your mouth is. When you return for your regularly scheduled hygiene visit, the hygienist will remove stains, any plaque and tartar, and best of all, dead bacteria. With continued use of Perio Protect®, your visits become easier, your tissues healthier, and most importantly, you are helping to prevent bacteria from entering into your bloodstream! It's amazing! You still have to use it as directed or it won't work. It's not magic, but it is amazing!

We are sponsoring a "No Cavities, No Gum Disease Contest" CONTEST for adults to celebrate dental health! It's easy to enter. Each time you come in to the office between January 2, 2013 and June 30, 2013 for a periodic (D0120) or comprehensive exam (D0150), AND you don't have any cavities (caries) or active gum disease (gingivitis or periodontal disease), you'll get a ticket to enter the drawing.
On July 1st, we will pick one lucky winner and notify them via phone. The winner and a guest will enjoy a two-night weekend stay, July 12-14, 2013, in a balcony suite at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach, FL. The prize package will include two (2) $100.00 credits to use at the hotel's spa along with $200 cash to use for meals or entertainment. The value of this prize is estimated at $1000.00. Transportation and gratuities are not included (see contest rules below for additional information).

Official Contest Rules
1. Must be 21 or older to enter. Contestant does not need to be present at the drawing to win. The winner will be randomly selected from all of the entries on July 1, 2013 in the office of Tavares Dental Excellence and will be contacted by telephone on that day.
2. The prize package is a two night paid stay (taxes for the room are included) during the dates of July 12th-July 14th, 2013 at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach, Florida. Two (2) $100 in-house hotel spa credits and $200.00 cash are included in the prize. The winner must be available this weekend to accept the prize or the prize is forfeited. Date of stay cannot be changed and prize is not redeemable for cash.
3. The odds of winning depend upon the number of valid entries received.
4. The start date of the contest is January 2, 2013 and the end date of the contest is June 30, 2013.
5. To be eligible to enter the contest, a patient must present with no caries (dental cavities) or active gum disease, gingivitis or periodontal disease, at the time of each periodic or comprehensive exam.
6. The approximate value of the prize is $1000.00.
7. Transportation to and from the hotel is the responsibility of the winner.
8. Gratuities are not included in the prize and are the responsibility, and are at the sole discretion, of the winner.
9. All other fees, services, meals, taxes incurred over and above the $200.00 cash allowance are the sole responsibilities of the winner.
