"Happy New Year! I Never Want To Do

That's right! And I'm pretty sure you would like to avoid fillings, crowns, root canals, and extractions, right? It's all possible!! But how? We currently have many patients we haven't done fillings, crowns, or any other restorative treatment in years, and they're in great dental health. Other than their regular preventive dental visits, they haven't needed even one small filling! How is this possible???
It's pretty simple, but not necessarily easy. First, decide you want a healthy mouth. With all the recent research linking your oral health to diseases of the heart, kidneys, pancreas, joints, and more, that should be a simple decision. An unhealthy mouth sends bacteria, toxins, acids and more through your bloodstream and your whole body. Gum disease, cavities, and dental abscesses affect more than just the mouth.
Second, get your mouth healthy! If you have active decay, gum disease, broken teeth, or other unhealthy dental problems, get them fixed. Make up your mind that you want to be healthy, including your mouth. We can help you set up a schedule to get healthy at a pace that is good for you.
Third, stay on your Preventive Maintenance schedule. When you come for your "cleaning," you get a lot more than a cleaning. We check for decay, gum disease, broken or cracked teeth, and oral cancer. If there should be something beginning, we catch it small and avoid a more involved procedure. Plus, our hygienists can help you with areas you have difficulty cleaning at home. Fluoride treatments and sealants will help prevent cavities. See if you're a candidate.
And Fourth, get your teeth "squeaky clean" at home every day. The average person spends 30 seconds or less cleaning their teeth each day. If you would like to never have a cavity you have to keep your teeth not just "clean," but really clean.
If you will spend 5-10 minutes each day focusing on having clean teeth and a clean mouth, you would be amazed at how little treatment you would need in the future.
This could be a great new year's resolution! Make up your mind you're taking control of your oral health and follow through. It's good for your health, your breath, your appearance, your eating ability, and your wallet!

Yes it's true! This could be you....
Last month, while brainstorming ways to encourage and celebrate overall health, Dr. Reinertsen came up with a brilliant idea. "Why not have a No Cavities, No Gum
Disease Contest for Adults? Why do kids have all of the fun?"
We are sponsoring a CONTEST to celebrate dental health! It's easy to enter. Each time you come in to the office between January 2, 2013 and June 30, 2013 for a periodic (D0120) or comprehensive exam (D0150), AND you don't have any cavities (caries) or active gum disease (gingivitis or periodontal disease), you'll get a ticket to enter the drawing.
On July 1st, we will pick one lucky winner and notify them via phone. The winner and a guest will enjoy a two-night weekend stay, July 12-14, 2013, in a balcony suite at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach, FL. The prize package will include two (2) $100.00 credits to use at the hotel's spa along with $200 cash to use for meals or entertainment. The value of this prize is estimated at $1000.00. Transportation and gratuities are not included (see contest rules below for additional information).
Just imagine the sunsets you'll enjoy right from the comfort of your suite!

Official Contest Rules
1. Must be 21 or older to enter. Contestant does not need to be present at the drawing to win. The winner will be randomly selected from all of the entries on July 1, 2013 in the office of Tavares Dental Excellence and will be contacted by telephone on that day.
2. The prize package is a two night paid stay (taxes for the room are included) during the dates of July 12th-July 14th, 2013 at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, Clearwater Beach, Florida. Two (2) $100 in-house hotel spa credits and $200.00 cash are included in the prize. The winner must be available this weekend to accept the prize or the prize is forfeited. Date of stay cannot be changed and prize is not redeemable for cash.
3. The odds of winning depend upon the number of valid entries received.
4. The start date of the contest is January 2, 2013 and the end date of the contest is June 30, 2013.
5. To be eligible to enter the contest, a patient must present with no caries (dental cavities) or active gum disease, gingivitis or periodontal disease, at the time of each periodic or comprehensive exam.
6. The approximate value of the prize is $1000.00.
7. Transportation to and from the hotel is the responsibility of the winner.
8. Gratuities are not included in the prize and are the responsibility, and are at the sole discretion, of the winner.
9. All other fees, services, meals, taxes incurred over and above the $200.00 cash allowance are the sole responsibilities of the winner.

We put our heads together to make our "Show Someone You Care" program even better in 2013. We have come up with an annual program that will start fresh each year. When we see someone new in our office (thanks to you) that you referred during the calendar year, these are ways we will say thank you:
