The Mercer County Technical School District will honor nearly 300 high school students at three ceremonies this month.  Nineteen students comprise the Health Science Academy's Class of 2015, the second graduating class at the full-time academy. Another 268 students will be acknowledged for successfully completing rigorous shared-time career and technical education programs at both the Assunpink Center and Arthur R. Sypek Center. We wish all of our students much success in the future. Check out our alumni video series.

FFA Chapter Launch

The Landscaping, Maintenance and Design program, led by Instructor Ed Birdsall, is now affiliated as the only active chapter of FFA (Future Farmers of America) in Mercer County.  FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. NEW Career Prep Programs

Starting in Fall 2015, the Mercer County Technical School District will offer several new Career Prep programs for high school seniors including Gaming, Fashion Design and Communication.  The programs are offered in collaboration with Mercer County Community College. Students can earn up to 12 college credits. Read more.

Culinary Grad Climbs the Ladder of Success

Tasha Mabin completed the Culinary Arts program at the Sypek Center and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts Management at The Culinary Institute of America ('10).  She's currently the Assistant Manager at The Compass Group in Washington, DC. "I'm quite sure that my degrees from the CIA has gotten me every job I've had so far. Employers know they're investing in quality when they recruit a CIA graduate."  Read more.

Dave Nash Highlighted by MCCC


 

Dave Nash, MCTS CIE Coordinator and graduate of the Auto Technology program at MCTS and MCCC was recently profiled for his success. Read more.

Student Wins 3rd Place in State Marketing Competition 

Congratulations to Edwin Anthony of Trenton (Mercer HS) who won 3rd place in the NJ DECA Supermarket Careers competition. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Edwin is currently enrolled in the Retail Food Marketing program at the Arthur R. Sypek Center.

 

Pennies for Patients


The Pennies for Patients fundraiser was a HUGE SUCCESS! Together, students and staff raised $2,122.96 by collecting money from bagel sales, dress down day and the classroom donations!!

Another Successful Blood Drive

 

Congratulations to the Assunpink Center HOSA Chapter for conducting a blood drive which yielded 26 units for the American Red Cross.  The community service event was planned by Angeli Sharma and her HOSA chapter advisor, Ms. Costa.
