Happy Holidays
CEO's message: Better understand clients & vendors in 2015

Wow, this year sure went quickly. For me, the holiday season is a time to reflect on my relationships with family and friends and with clients, affiliates, suppliers and others. I encourage you to do the same with your business relationships.

How well do you understand each company's strategic objectives and guiding principles, and how well does each one understand yours? The better you can analyze these relationships (See Tutorial), the better your success in negotiation and in other facets of your business in 2015.

The Scotwork NA family wishes you, your colleagues and your families a happy and healthy holiday.

Marty Finkle, CEO

P.S.: Don't forget to negotiate when purchasing last-minute gifts!
Tutorial: Analyze key relationships for better outcomes

To achieve better negotiating outcomes in 2015, ask these questions about each of your  business relationships:

  • What do you like about working with this company?
  • Do you need to alter the power balance? (View webinar recording, Assess your power...get better results.)
  • What could this company--and your firm--do in 2015 to improve the relationship?
  • If you didn't work with this company in 2014, could both sides shift approaches so you could reach an agreement that benefits both sides?
Blog: Striving for peace a century after the Christmas truce

This Christmas marks the 100th anniversary of an all-too-brief ceasefire during World War I between British and German soldiers, who even played a good-
humored football match.

The Scotwork team recounts what happened on that day in 1914 and the continuing efforts to negotiate peace on Earth. Read Pipes for Peace.

Video testimonial: Scotwork course "life-changing...better deals and relationships"
Why work with Scotwork Negotiation? In this three-minute clip, Rick Brook of WPP (world leader in marketing communication services) talks about ANS as a "life-changing course" and why all professionals should
be trained in negotiation to create "better deals and better relationships."

Meet Violaine Galland: East Coast VP

To build and manage the East Coast operations, Scotwork NA has tapped Violaine Galland, who brings 20 years' experience as a Wall Street executive and entrepreneur who created and sold several successful start-ups.  She has effectively negotiated complex multimillion dollar deals that involved the conflicting goals of stakeholders from areas such as procurement, operations, IT and legal.

As Vice President, Violaine sees Scotwork's courses as essential for any professional who wants to learn critical strategies that can bring clarity, structure and control to the complex negotiation process.

She resides in New York City with her husband and two young children--"the toughest natural negotiators I've ever encountered." Contact her.
