Dear Friend,
Happy New Year! As we look back at 2012 we are grateful for having many opportunities to serve Christians all over the U.S. and Canada by bringing them to Israel.
According to the Israel Ministry of Tourism annual report released last month, 2012 was another record year for tourism with total numbers surpassing those of 2011 by 4%. (Despite November numbers being down by 43%) Approximately sixty percent of the 3.3 million that visited Israel are part of the Christian community.
Tourism has become an important sector of the Israel economy so not only is Israel blessed spiritually by the love Christians share with Israelis but economically as well. Thank you!
In 2013, Coral Travel & Tours will continue its commitment to bring Christians to the Holy Land to experience the wonder of this special land. We will strive to always provide the absolute best possible service to our customers. We hope to see you in Israel this year!
 All the best,
Shalom & Irit Almog

2750-Year-Old Temple Unearthed at Tel Motza
The Israel Antiquity Authority recently announced the discovery of a King David era temple near Jerusalem. The ruins, unearthed at Tel Motza, are considered quite unique in that very little remains have been found of ritual buildings of this period in Judaea. According to a statement by the IAA the temple has massive walls and a wide, east facing entrance, conforming to the tradition of temple construction at the time. Other notable features include a square alter surrounded by ritual items, such as pottery chalices, decorated pedestals and pottery figurines. Among them were human-like heads and harnessed horses used in ritual practices.
According to the site's directors, "The finds recently discovered at Tel Motza provide rare archaeological evidence for the existence of temples and ritual enclosures in the Kingdom of Judah in general, and in the Jerusalem region in particular, prior to the religious reforms throughout the kingdom at the end of the monarchic period at the time of Hezekiah and Isaiah, which abolished all ritual sites, concentrating ritual practices solely at the Temple in Jerusalem."
