The History of the Sugar Dome
|
Starting in late 2014, a referral came to the MEDC office to talk about a new project which we named project sweet tooth. With the help of the previous land owners, the current land owners, neighbors adjacent to the property and Sean Maher from Pritzker Realty Group, the project started to gain momentum. The village staff, engineer and elected officials continued to keep the project moving forward and on the front burner. ComEd, The Planning commission and the Montgomery Fire and Police department all played a role in keeping this deal in Montgomery. This is an exciting project for the community as it has not only placed Montgomery, Illinois on the map, it has proven to show the development community how true economic development, leadership and cooperation work together. Everyone participated and worked together to make this project a reality in the Village of Montgomery. Starting as a 40 million dollar investment, United Sugar and American Crystal have added a new meaning to the word sweet tooth. Help us welcome this great company and addition to our community!
