Montgomery has a 2nd clean up
Special thanks to VVF and Elferno Bistro for all their support!
2015 clean up
The MEDC and the Village of Montgomery Community Development Department recently coordinated a second clean-up event of the year. This time, the focus was on Aucutt Road, which is part of Montgomery's industrial corridor.

We have had a large amount of interest in our TIF district, and we wanted to clean up the area before winter set in.

VVF  was a huge help in supporting our efforts, providing over seven volunteers. The Elferno Bistro, a new restaurant in the Citgo gas station, provided food for our volunteers. They served pizza, salads and sandwiches, and participated in the event as well.

An earlier clean-up event focused on the Douglas Road corridor.

Webster Railroad Crossing to close

The Webster Street railroad crossing will close at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, and is scheduled to reopen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20.  The project will fully replace the crossing, so while it may start out as an inconvenience, in the end this is great news. Going over the tracks at Webster Road has been a struggle for many years. It is good news to find out that the continued effort by the community and Village trustees led to the crossing repairs.

The MEDC & Village attend ICSC at Navy Pier

The MEDC and the Village of Montgomery attended the ICSC convention in Chicago at Navy Pier on Oct. 7, 2015.

The ICSC conference gives us the opportunity to meet with developers, brokers and retailers, and talk to them about Montgomery and property opportunities. We were able to meet with a variety of prospects and provide flash drives with available property sites.

An announcement from Butterball
Thinking about a new career?
On Nov. 2, we transformed our entire recruiting and hiring process with a new sourcing, recruiting and onboarding solution. Butterball will now be going to an online Applicant Tracking System.

With this new user-friendly system solution, we will streamline our recruiting and hiring process from posting a job to bringing a new team member on board. Our applicants will have the flexibility to complete an application online versus standing in long lines waiting to complete a paper application.

In addition, our current team members will be able to easily apply for jobs by accessing our internal application on the company intranet under the recruiting page. We believe this will be a positive experience and have value added impact to our business and people solutions. The following website is available to all of our applicants.
