The U.S. Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) is conducting a forum with NSDI leaders to develop a strategic framework to improve the coordination and management of the Nation's geospatial assets and guide the further development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.

Rebecca Somers, URISA president, will represent URISA at the forum. In advance of the meeting, we encourage input from interested URISA members. Specifically, the NSDI is seeking thoughts about the following questions:

• In what way might the community work toward a National approach for developing the NSDI Strategic Framework?
• If an NSDI would be fully developed, what would it look like? What would the community, government, and organization be able to do that we can't do now?
• What is the value of the NSDI to government, organizations, and the public?
• What are the challenges for collaboratively building the NSDI?
• Who are the primary stakeholders and customers that need to be engaged?
• What should be the top three priorities over the next three years and why? What activities will produce the highest return?
