The National Center for Transit Research and the Transportation Research Board (TRB) are joining URISA to sponsor the 9th National GIS in Transit Conference, September 1-3, 2015, in Washington, DC. Call for Workshop Reviewers
URISA's Workshop Development Committee (WDC) is once again coordinating updates of the existing lineup of URISA workshops, particularly those being presented at GIS-Pro & NWGIS 2015 in Spokane:

#3: GIS Strategic Planning
#4: Introduction to Public Participation GIS
#5: Business Intelligence and Data Integration for the GIS Professional
#6: Cartography and Map Design
#7: Deploying Mobile Solutions
Please review each workshop description here. If you have professional or academic expertise in any of these workshop subjects, you are encouraged to volunteer to be a reviewer. Reviews typically take 5-10 hours of time and will occur during June/July.
If you would like to volunteer, please send an email to Wendy Nelson at URISA Headquarters (wnelson@urisa.org) by May 11 with the workshop topic(s) you are interested in, along with a resume, CV or statement of qualification.

URISA's GISCorps & Tax Day
GISCorps has been extremely busy over the several months, from working on the Ebola Response and Recovery Efforts to responding to Typhoon Pam. There is an abundance of projects in process right now. And a little bird told me that GISCorps is going to receive a high-profile award this summer!
Remember that this amazing program survives on monetary donations and volunteer expertise. In the U.S., the deadline to file an income tax return was yesterday, April 15. Consider GISCorps as you plan your charitable giving for the rest of 2015. Click here for an easy donation form.
