Normally a full-day classroom session, the workshop has been re-packaged into three sections and will be presented online to meet the constant demand for the subject matter without the travel expense and time away from work. The workshop counts toward GISP Education credit (8 hours of EDU-2). (We've also applied for AICP continuing education credit for this course.)

Call for Participation for GIS-Pro 2014
Leveraging Spatial Technology to Support Sustainable and Resilient Communities
It's time to start thinking about presentation proposals for GIS-Pro 2014 in New Orleans next September! The Call for Participation details are now online and submissions are due on or before January 27. This year, we're encouraging submissions of complete sessions with specific learning objectives as much as possible to make the attendee experience even more valuable. The Committee has prepared a list of suggested topics. Take some time to review the details and jot down some notes about what you might share!
In the meantime, we're working on sponsorship opportunities, keynote speakers, networking activities and a New Orleans volunteer activity. It's going to be great!

It was fun watching the GIS Day tweets and images from around the world yesterday. The first formal GIS Day took place in 1999 and its grown into a major opportunity for organizations to showcase the impact of GIS to communities worldwide.
