YOUR LIFE MATTERS TOO!

June 7, 2016 - Dawsonville, GA (Atlanta North)

TOPIC:

Law Enforcement - A heritage of pride....A history of tradition....The courage to serve.

There are some things we can safely say will get worse before they get better. For law enforcement this list includes things like political protests, the media coverage of negative portrayals of law enforcement officers, smaller operating budgets, poverty, a lack of educations, jobs and a lack of respect from some of the people we serve.

Today's law enforcement officer is under more stress than ever before...On and Off the Job. It's time to get back to basics and build these officers up because there are enough people tearing them down. Law Enforcement Officers are thrust into situations by duty and not by personal choice, under complicated circumstances not of their creation.

This class is designed to encourage law enforcement personnel to reset and begin to bridge the divide with the communities they serve. Law enforcement officers see themselves as guarantors of the public safety that underpins our democracy and people who help others. On the law enforcement side we must recognize that our methods require refinement. We must focus less on those who want to tear us down and begin to focus on our own. Let us go back to basics and review where we came from, where we are and build up morale in the hearts and minds of the men and women who protect and serve.

Remember, "This job can kill you, even if no one is shooting at you."
