December 2012
Season's Greetings!

Welcome to TGIM Work-Life News, my 'Not-So-Monthly' newsletter! This is a sister publication to UNretiredLife -- both brought to you by Big Cheese Coaching.

Hello and Season's Greetings! I'm having a deja vu experience. It feels like a 'moment' ago we celebrated the end of the year (last December) and here we are again. 2012 went fast! Did it feel that way to you too? In any case, I love this season. It's my favorite time of the year to take stock, review, reflect, rejuvenate and look ahead.

If you have been 'hanging around with me' for some time (via my blog, newsletter or other avenues) you know what's coming: Yup, my annual tradition of 12 Questions to Complete Your Year and Start Anew. I journal year-round and encourage my clients and others to do the same. But the year-end presents a particularly special opportunity to pause, park and reflect -- and take stock of the year behind and the year ahead.

An amazing thing happens when you do take the time to look at what you've accomplished; who you have become in the process; what you learned; and more. I have just started my year-end reflection and even in the early stage of reflecting I've realized that I accomplished much more than I realized. For instance: I have made significant progress on my new book (offering RX for overwhelm during unprecedented times of busy); I am well into development of my new website to be launched early in 2013; I am forging new strategic partnerships and I've kept my word on the wellbeing front --with plans for more in this area. News to come on all these fronts in early 2013!

I bet you too will find lots of nuggets worth celebrating as you wind down your year.  You can get the Qs below or check them out here. If you are an existing client and have a membership to my Big Cheese Coaching Journal, you can get them there too with all the bells and whistles.

In gratitude and honour of my clients, friends and associates of Big Cheese Coaching and Chadnick Communications, I thank you for being part of my work + life and have made a special holiday donation to: Nature Conservancy of Canada, Toronto Humane Society Society and Ve'havta. I feel blessed in so many ways and have chosen to give back to these worthy organizations that do much to help heal our world in important ways.

I wish you all a wonderful, safe and happy holiday season. Here's to your personal and professional wellbeing - and a TGIM work + life!

Warmly,
Eileen Chadnick, PCC, ACPC, ABC

12 Questions for the New Year:

If this looks familiar, you are right! I share12 questions each year. It's a tradition and I believe good questions can endure while the answers may evolve from year to year. Some of this year's list borrows from past years' questions - and there are a couple new ones too. The online version offers a bit more detail on each of the questions if you want more.

 The Year Past:

1) What went well?

2) In what ways did you grow and evolve in the 'evolution of you'?

3) What were your favorite moments of 2012?

4) What do you need to clean-out or let go of right now to be ready to start fresh in 2013?

5) What and who are you most grateful for right now?

6) If there was a theme for 2012 for you personally, what would it be? i.e. "This was the year of ____."

  The Year Ahead:

7) What are your goals for 2013 (professional, personal)?

8 ) What of your strengths and assets will you deliberately use more of in the year ahead?

9) In what ways will you take care of your personal wellbeing to maintain or boost your 'mojo', resilience, energy, inspriation and overall wellbeing?

10) In what ways will you take care of your professional wellbeing to boost or maintain your work-life aspirations and career mojo?

11) In what ways will you contribute something to the 'greater good'  of _____ (choose a community or communities of choice)?

12) If the year ahead is to have a personal theme for you, what would that be? i.e. "This will be the year of ____"
