Plan to take some crafts home for your own Christmas as well.  If you have ideas, or crafts to contribute make sure to speak soon or email by clicking:  Samantha Heinlein, Wanda Haney, Carolyn O'Campo or Mary Lynn Lindner

Child Care is available by RSVP to Allison Webb by clicking here email.  We're happy to provide child care but need to know the needs for planning.

Learn the New City Catechism: One Question Per Week

Each week we'll be posting a question and answer from the New City Catechism, along with a brief video explanation.

Question 44:
What is baptism?
Answer:

Baptism is the washing with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; it signifies and seals our adoption into Christ, our cleansing from sin, and our commitment to belong to the Lord and to his church.

Jesus and the Two Mars Hills
from Pastor Bill's Blog

I was struck recently by sad news about the two Mars Hill churches, which reminded me once again of my own need for Jesus.

You know the two Mars Hill churches?

The one in Seattle was founded by Mark Driscoll and experienced dramatic growth under his spiritually abusive leadership. Pastor Driscoll resigned recently amidst the scandal of that abusiveness.

The other Mars Hill church is in Grand Rapids, MI. It was founded and led by Rob Bell until he resigned to pursue his own take on a modern faith. It was a take that left behind the historic foundations of Christian faith.  Rob and I are graduates of the same seminary.

And then there is Jesus, of whom John wrote:
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. . . . For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. - (John 1:14, 17)
EPC giving to Iraqi Christian relief surpasses $75,000

As of October 16, EPC churches and individuals have given more than $75,000 to support Iraqi Christian relief through Christian Aid Mission (CAM). These gifts are supplying displaced people with food, clothing, beds, and medicine-and the opportunity to see the love of Christ demonstrated in a tangible way.

At Christ Covenant, even in a challenging economic situation, we continue to invest 10% of our weekly income into ministries beyond our doors.  These ministries include this CAM need as well as InterVarsity - UMW, FXBG Young Life, Spotsy Habitat for Humanity, FXBG Pregnancy Center and Paul Stefan home.
