Meal for the Homeless with New Generation - Sept. 21

Christ Covenant has the opportunity to help provide and serve a meal for the homeless people of Fredericksburg with New Generation Ministries! We need everyone's help! There are lots of ways to pitch in .... you can donate finances, food, and especially time.  Sign up here to help.
"Family Meeting" - September 28 Following Worship

Every family needs to communicate about schedules, opportunities and needs. We'd like to have a brief "Family Meeting" following the Sept 28 Worship Service of about 10-15 minutes to bring folks up to date on a number of items:

  • Finances
  • Resolving Every Day Conflict Kick off
  • Renovations at facility

Open to anyone interested!  

Ladies' Bible Study Begins 09/09 at 0900

We will be starting our ladies' bible study back up in September! We meet Tuesday mornings and will be studying Nancy Guthrie's
The Word of the Lord: Seeing Jesus in the Prophets, from her Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament series. This group meets each  Tuesday, 9 am to 10:30 am.   Let Beverley Bouchard or Allison Webb know if you are interested.  Child care will be available.

PeaceMakers - Resolving Everday Conflict
  • Sunday Evenings, Alternating Sundays, 6 pm Began Sept 14

The Secret Capture of the Church: Why I Hope We Leave Behind the Movie 'Left Behind'

For the record: I do believe that Jesus will return one day to planet Earth - publicly, gloriously, victoriously and savingly - just as He promised.  Those who are alive at His returning will meet Him in the air.  He will judge the world - both those who are alive and those who have died - and He will establish His Kingdom with justice, peace and life as it was created to be.  All of this has been believed by believers across cultures and across centuries and is part of the "faith that was once for all delivered to the saints." (Jude 3)

Here is what I don't believe: I do not believe that Jesus will return half-way and silently in order to secretly remove the church and the Holy Spirit from the planet for the seven year Great Tribulation and then "come-again again," this time to judge and reign for 1,000 years.  These ideas are the product of a particular perspective called Dispensationalism that was unknown among Christians until late in the 19th century....
