Spotsy Pres  To Join the EPC

SPC voted last Sunday 270-6 in favor of transferring affiliation to the EPC. There will be some implementation steps in the months ahead with a hope to complete the process around Easter.
This will make Spotsy Pres the second EPC church in our county and give us a new mission partner for extending ministry in our community.

Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center Volunteer Training
Training will be held at New City Fellowship, January 22-25.  Visit the FPC website for more details and to register.
Ministry Opportunity!

Christ Covenant will soon be forming a Sunday morning study group to meet at 5044 Plank Rd.  We are in need of a few people to help with nursery at that time.  If you are not currently assisting in children's ministry during worship service, please consider this opportunity. See Allison Webb if you are interested.

Covenant Renewal 2014
Sunday, January 5 & 12

Several times through the history of Israel, the Family of God would reassess their life with God and respond with a time of "Covenant Renewal."  It was not a change in their faith or identity.  They were God's People because of His grace.  It was instead a purposeful and renewed step deeper into their faith and identity as Children of God.

Each year, we at Christ Covenant set aside several Sundays in January to look back over the previous year and reflect on personal growth with regard to Bible Reading, Prayer and Service.  Next, there is time to prayerfully develop some appropriate "grace goals" in these same areas for the upcoming year.  At our January 12 service, opportunity will be given to record these Grace Goals and offer them to the LORD for the upcoming year using a simple Covenant Renewal Form.  That form will be kept through the year and then returned next January as part of the new Grace Goals process.

January 12
  • Everyone will have the opportunity to respond with Grace Goals for 2014 that will be returned in January of 2015

Living In Step With The Gospel - Gal 2:14

Beginning Sunday, January 19 at 9:30 in the Worship Space at our Plank Rd location, Pastor Bill will begin a new group for interaction, Bible Study and discussion and fellowship.  It is designed to give us a chance to study and interact on a number topics and questions that we all face in life.  Sort of like a class.  Sort of like a missional community.  Sort of like a Question & Answer session.  It combines all of those formats to make one significant growth experience.

Sample Format:
  • 5 minute Warm Up
  • 25 minute Content Presentation - teaching, Q & A, media clips, panel discussions, interviews
  • 15 minute Breakout Groups

  • What do you mean by "Gospel-Centered"?
  • What is so different about "Gospel-Centered" from anything else?

Learn the Catechism:
One Question per Week
Each week we'll be posting a question and answer from the New City Catechism, along with a brief video explanation.

Question 2: What is God?

Answer: God is the creator and sustainer of everyone and everything. He is eternal, infinite, and unchangeable in his power and perfection, goodness and glory, wisdom, justice, and truth. Nothing happens except through him and by his will.
