Spotsy Pres Voting To Join the EPC

This Sunday, January 5, Spostylvania Presbyterian Church will hold a congregational meeting to vote on an agreement to transfer to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  We will want to lift them, their decision and this vote in our prayers.

An affirmative vote would make them the second EPC church in our county and give us a new mission partner for extending ministry in our community.

Covenant Renewal 2014
Sunday, January 5 & 12

Several times through the history of Israel, the Family of God would reassess their life with God and respond with a time of "Covenant Renewal."  It was not a change in their faith or identity.  They were God's People because of His grace.  It was instead a purposeful and renewed step deeper into their faith and identity as Children of God.

Each year, we at Christ Covenant set aside several Sundays in January to look back over the previous year and reflect on personal growth with regard to Bible Reading, Prayer and Service.  Next, there is time to prayerfully develop some appropriate "grace goals" in these same areas for the upcoming year.  At our January 12 service, opportunity will be given to record these Grace Goals and offer them to the LORD for the upcoming year using a simple Covenant Renewal Form.  That form will be kept through the year and then returned next January as part of the new Grace Goals process.

January 5
  • Those who filled out Covenant Renewal Grace Goals last year will be able to pick them up at worship or have them mailed during the week
  • Pastor Bill will have resources and plans for developing this year's Grace Goals
January 12
  • Everyone will have the opportunity to respond with Grace Goals for 2014 that will be returned in January of 2015
