Sunday Sermon
The Problem With Marriage
Ephesians 5:17-22, 25, 31-33

The third in a five-week series looking at marriage issues from a Gospel-Centered perspective.

Got A Question?
Let's Grab Lunch
I'm thankful for the response I've had for our current sermon series on Marriage.  Questions, comments and even disagreements have all been insightful and helpful.  I've decided to build more opportunity for that, so I plan to be available for lunch with anyone and everyone after Worship Service:  We'll just head down to Mama's for a sandwich and more relaxed interaction.  Your questions, follow-up and comments are invited.  Just let me know after the service, and I'll make sure there is a seat for you.
Thanks, Pastor Bill

There are Only Two Kinds of Sermons
I have come to see that there are really just two ways to preach: one is the gospel, the other is get-better messages. The first is based on God's goodness; the second on self-improvement. Gospel preaching presupposes that, even though we deserve punishment for our sins, Jesus Christ suffered the punishment in our place on the cross. Get-better sermons, on the other hand, is moralistic advice in which a preacher mounts a pulpit to scold the people for not doing more or getting better....

Supper Groups are back this Fall!
The idea of supper groups is to provide an opportunity for all of us to get to know each other better in a fun, informal setting, where food is involved, of course!  We had a blast last year and hope more people will sign up this time around.

To find out more about supper groups, visit 4cfxbg.org.

Contact Allison Webb soon via email, or text or call (704) 222-4600 to join a supper group. Or, you can join the 'Supper Groups' Ministry Group on ChurchBook!

Missional Communities this Fall
MCs are returning to their regularly scheduled activities in September. Watch for a full list of MCs, visit ChurchBook or the Christ Covenant website: 4cfxbg.org.  If you have an interest in being part of a new MC, contact Pastor Bill by email for new opportunities.

What is a Missional Community?  We believe that the Father has called us to be a church OF small groups, and not just a church WITH small group ministry.
