They Changed Their Minds,
Why Don't We?
From Pastor Bill's Blog

We are now living with the consequences of two significant societal changes that have occurred in my life time: no-fault divorce and abortion-on-demand.  Perhaps you were unaware that two people who fought hard for each of these changes have lived to see the consequences of each and were then honest enough to change their minds.  Our nation should understand why they changed and then join them.

Help In The Nursery
Volunteer for 2-3 Sundays through the summer

We would like to expand our pool of volunteers for helping out in our nursery: ages newborn to about two years.  We'll put together teams of people, so you won't be alone, and our Children's Ministry has a standard background check for all who serve and care for our children.  Contact Beverley Bouchard by email or at church on Sunday if you want to know more or would be willing to help out.
Baby Bottle Boomerang
Mother's Day Thru Father's Day

Christ Covenant will be helping the Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center raise money beginning next Sunday. The campaign involves collecting your spare change in a baby bottle at home. On May 12th (Mother's Day) we will be providing baby bottles to place your change in and will be collecting the bottles on June 16th (Father's Day). The money collected goes directly to funding such projects as brochures on the risks of abortion, educational DVDs, ultrasound confirmations, and more. Click Here To Learn More.

UMW InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
End-of-School-Year from Jessica Molzahn

Big News: We are starting Athletes Ministry!

Over the course of the year, more and more athletes have gotten involved in the he chapter and with a couple of key student leaders, spent a lot of time praying and dreaming about what the LORD could be doing here and what does it mean for us to intentionally move into pursuing this niche.

The beginning of April LeLe took a risk and started an athletes' GIG (Group Investigating God - evangelistic Bible study designed for students who don't yet know Jesus).  Nine new athletes showed up!  LeLe has met so many new athletes since.  She is praying and dreaming about what it would look like to start on of these GIGs on each athletic team over the course of next year.  She knows many athletes representing different teams and has started casting vision for them starting GIGs on their own teams next year.

Being an athlete, this is really fun for me.  More than that, we are so excited to see how the LORD moves throughout the 22 athletic teams at UMW and the many more club teams.  A couple weeks ago, LeLe tole me: "I want athlete's identities transformed from being found in their sport to being found as children of God."

Would you pray for LeLe as she continues to take risks in pursuing the UMW athletic community?
Meal For Fredericksburg's Homeless
Serving with New Generation Outreach on June 16

New Generation is a local ministry in downtown Fredericksburg that ministers to the homeless street population, including providing a meal every Sunday afternoon followed by a Worship Service.

Christ Covenant would like to help with a meal on 16 June 2013. We need to provide:
1) A  hearty meal for 125 people (think a "Bob Evans" type food);
2) A sack lunch (PBJs, fruit, chips, water) for 25 people;
3) Volunteers to prepare the venue (Mars Hill on Princess Anne St.), prepare plates, serve meals, and clean up afterwards.

Meals are served from 3-4 PM with most of the volunteers needed a bit before 3 through clean up at about 4:30.  We need at least six people, preferrably 10, to meet this need.  This would be a 2 hour commitment on site.  Food preparation is separate.

Click Here for an online sign-up form.  Lots of different ways you can be of help!
