Giving has been linked to the release of oxytocin, a hormone that induces feelings of warmth, euphoria, and connection to others. As we enter the traditional season of giving and thanksgiving, we are excited to announce several ways in which we are expressing our gratitude by sharing the gift of yoga with our local community. We hope you will join us!

Pay it Forward - Month of November
It goes without saying that yoga classes should be accessible for all, but sadly not everyone can afford to attend. To that end we're rolling out a program for the month of November that will enable you to buy a yoga class for someone in need. It's simple:
- Purchase a "pay it forward" class from the front desk or online for only $10.
- Complete the gift card and hang it on the bulletin board in the lobby. (If you purchase online, we'll do this for you.)
- Help spread the word to folks you know who are in need of a free class.
- Know that your small gift will help someone reap the benefits of practicing with the SYA community.
Available for purchase now through
November 30, 2015.

Trunk Show and Yoga to Benefit
Street Yoga
Saturday, November 7, 7:15pm
Join us for fashion, fun and fundraising as we partner with Haven Collective to raise money for Street Yoga, a local organization dedicated to helping youth overcome trauma and create meaningful, healthy lives through yoga and mindfulness. Rebecca Denk has sweetly volunteered her time to start off the night with a 45-minute practice, which will be followed by light snacks, organic wine and a trunk show of Haven Collective's eco-conscious, ethically sewn yoga clothing.

Yoga Behind Bars Benefit Practice
with Amy Reed
Saturday, November 21, 9:00am
Amy has graciously volunteered to donate her Saturday morning deepening class on November 21 to the Yoga Behind Bars' Gratitude in Motion Campaign. If you haven't had a chance to practice with Amy yet, this is a great opportunity to experience her teaching while supporting a local organization that brings yoga and meditation to men, women and youth behind bars.
