SOCIAL ACTION

BSO cooks and serves dinner the third Wednesday each month to the 30 homeless women who stay at Sophia House. Sophia House is under the umbrella of Interfaith Works, a Montgomery County organization. We coordinate the schedule of meals for our congregation.  The shelter is located off of Parklawn Dr. in Rockville.

We are seeking volunteers for August, September & October Requirements include food for 30: 2 entrees, 2 side dishes, dessert/fruit & drinks.

Please contact Meredith Gavin Singer via email, or 301-792-5509, if you are interested in coordinating or contributing food toward a meal on one of those dates.

This Shabbat we mark the start of a new month as we start a new book of the Torah.
