No Gathering This Sunday, Nov. 30
Enjoy the Advent Event
9:30am, Fellowship Hall
Dear Friends,
We are going to gather together in a slightly different fashion this week. Twice a year, our Gathering Worship becomes a gathering of the whole church in celebration. This week is the Advent Event. We will eat and play games and make crafts and do some social justice work and pass out copies of our congregation's Advent Devotional, and we may occasionally burst into dance if we want to with the music of Dave Powers. It will be a glorious morning, and I hope you will be able to worship at one of our other services.
Next week, we will be back to our version of normal, and I can't wait. Worshipping with you all is great joy, and you are among my prayers of great Thanksgiving this week.
Enjoy your turkey or whatever feast you share, and I'll see you Sunday.
Grace and peace,
Katie Kinnison

Help Wanted - Sunday Nursery Staff
We need to hire new nursery staff for Sunday mornings... someone to care for, read to, snuggle, giggle with and provide nurturing care for the smallest members of our church family. We need someone who is available each Sunday from 8am-12:30pm. This is a paid position. Consider your friends or family who might be perfect for this job and pass along the information. If you are interested, contact Katie or Erin.

The New Hymnals are Here Sunday!
Session approved the purchase of 280 copies of the new hymnal. We're asking our congregation to help defray costs by dedicating a pew copy in honor or in memory of a loved one. So far we have 72 dedications! Pew copies of Glory to God can be dedicated for $20 per hymnal. A personalized bookplate will be inside the front cover of each dedicated hymnal. (Click here for Hymnal Dedication Form) Please make checks payable to "Covenant Presbyterian Church" and write "new hymnals" in the memo line. Thank you!

Darkness2Light Training Sessions
Tues., Dec. 9 from 6-8:30pm (Dinner provided)
Sun., Jan. 11 at noon. (Lunch provided)
Darkness2Light training is designed to prevent children being sexually abused. At Covenant, we require it for people working with children and youth. We offer it to anyone because the more people equipped with this knowledge and insight, the safer children who comes through our doors will be. See Katie Kinnison to register or for info.
Parents Night Out Fri., Dec. 12, 6-8:30pm
(2nd Fri. of each month)
Parents Night Out is a ministry to families with children in our congregation and throughout community. In fact, fewer than 20% of the families are members. Last month we had 67 children to cherish and care for, feed and entertain...and it's growing!
So we need help in the kitchen to prepare food for the children who attend PNO. It will only take an hour of your time and it is a vital part of this ministry! If you can be a part of this wonderful work, contact Erin Wise.
Deacons' Adopt-A-Family Christmas Ministry
Spread joy this holiday season by sharing with less fortunate families. Covenant is partnering with The Salvation Army to provide Christmas gifts for community families in need. Adopt a small family, a large family, or multiple families. Deacons will provide each adopted family with a WalMart gift card. To learn how to be a sponsor contact Gina Spicer, 302-5440.
Joy Gym Every Friday, 9:30-11am
Watch your little ones play in a fun, safe place with riding toys, balls, running room and places to crawl. Connect with other local parents and caregivers in a supportive, joyous environment.
Wrapping Party - Thursday, Dec. 18, 7pm
Bring your gifts and wrapping supplies and join your friends at the church to make this item on your to-do list a whole lot more fun! We provide the food and drinks and everyone gets the work done while spending quality time with friends!

SOS Food Pantry
"Thank You" all for your donations to the SOS Thanksgiving In-gathering of Food. The pantry shelves are overflowing with your generosity.
Every 1st Sunday of the month bring non-perishable foods for families in need. Contact Lou Ann Doub, 488-3919, or Gerlinde Lott, 486-8607. Any time, bring in your favorite brands of mac and cheese, baked beans, tuna, peanut butter and jelly, etc. and put in the SOS bin at the North entrance of the church.
