Dear Covenant friends and family,

For our worship together, our children will lead us through some of the story of Exodus this Sunday. At both 8:30am and 11:00am, they will remind us of how God rescued an oppressed people from slavery in Egypt and led them into a new life and a new vision of reality. As the people left what they had always known -- even though what they had known was forced labor and the murder of their children -- they were so afraid that they sometimes asked to be taken back "home."  The Wilderness, like that through which they traveled, like that in which we sometimes metaphorically find ourselves, is a disorienting place, a place where we are never sure we will have enough to sustain our lives. Enough.

We really do need enough, but sometimes, as a 21st century American, I wonder if I really have a good sense of the word.  What is enough? Enough food, enough security, enough guidance. . ? Join us this Sunday as we ponder these things and give our praise and adoration to a God who is always and ever enough.

Grace and peace,
Katie

We Need Some Wisdom, Sun., Oct. 26, 12pm, Lounge
The Nurture and Outreach Commission is looking at how we use technology, web sites, apps and social media to communicate. We want to improve communication within our church and to make ourselves easily accessible to people who are not members but may find us interesting for one reason or another. Our Commission is looking at how we might improve our website, and we are very excited about the possibility of a Covenant mobile website or app. We need some good input for all this. Let's gather around a table for lunch and share our experiences, insight, and perspectives. If you are able to join us, contact Jim Buchanan or Katie Kinnison for more information and to make sure we have enough lunch.

Open Shelter - Thurs., Oct. 30 - Cookies and brownies are needed for dinners we prepare and serve to our homeless friends. Please bring to the kitchen by 4pm. Carol Petro, [email protected], 485-0994.

We need your help and support to continue to offer this vital and grace-filled ministry, and to make it really good. If you can be a part of this wonderful work, please contact Erin Wise.
