We are happy to announce new additions to the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. For the first time we are adding a FOURTH session to our camp! What is it? Musical Theater Camp.
Musical Theater Camp offers students an opportunity to take the skills they have learned through years at camp and push them to the next level. It is a pre-professional program, where students will work closely with experienced artists working in their field of interest. The culmination of two weeks work? A FULL production of Guys and Dolls.
All high school students and 1st and 2nd year college students are invited to attend! Like all of our sessions, this will be a dynamic multidisciplinary camp. Students will be placed in one of three tracks depending on their interest.
Are you an actor? Musician? Dancer? Artist? Singer? Or stage technician? Then we need you! Registration is available online now. DATES: July 16-29 PERFORMANCES: July 27, 7pm; July 28, 2pm; and July 28, 7pm
Introducing New-to-SFAC Faculty
Classes for the summer were announced yesterday and it makes me want to be a camper in each and every one of them!
We have a great group of faculty joining the SFAC team for the 2012 summer! As you can see by their classes, this group is going to bring an off-the-charts set of expertise with them. From an incredible fantasy illustrator to a ballet dancer with the Trey McIntyre Project to the founders of Atheneum School in Anchorage, this is an extremely talented and inspiring group. Stay tuned for more information about our new instructors.
Allen Work Party!
We will have another work party this Saturday! Drywall is up and it's time for MUDDING!
Allen Auditorium Saturday, March 3rd Starting at 9am. All are welcome- bring gloves if you have them and your elbow grease. Lunch will be served to fuel each and every busy volunteer.
Raise it Up! Allen Auditorium Elevator
Thank you to everyone that submitted donations toward installing the elevator in Allen!
When Allen Auditorium was left behind mid-renovation so were the materials for a new elevator.
We have been given the "OK" to install the equipment, but need to finish the job before it goes out of code.
We need your help: it will cost $40,000 to pick up those pieces and put them in their place.
Or send contributions to PO Box 3086 Sitka, Alaska 99835
