Sitka Fine Arts Camp

Greetings!
At Sitka Fine Arts Camp we believe that every human starts out with an innate creativity. At this stage of life, creativity is easier for some to tap into than others. Maybe you see it in your camper everyday, or maybe you can only see glimpses of it when he or she is feeling most comfortable.

At Camp there is an atmosphere and attitude that seems to draw out unguarded and explorative creativity.

"The magic of Camp comes from the simple idea that the arts are worth teaching and learning, not just for a careers sake, but for one's edification as a human being."

-Sofía Córdova, 2011 Photography instructor.

Thank you to everyone that participated in Camp this year, as instructors, as campers, as staff and as supporters. You've helped to set the tone for everything to come. We want the same energy and spirit of Camp to be part of every program that comes to the Sheldon Jackson campus.

Capturing Camp

We were fortunate to have Clark Mishler, Anchorage Photographer, come to the Sitka Fine Arts Camp on the Sheldon Jackson campus this year.

He and his wife, Mitzi, went to classes met students and got to know the faculty.  He put together an evening ArtShare for the Camp.  He has a wonderful eye and took some incredible photographs of our camp community.
