Sitka Fine Arts Camp Volunteer Newsletter

Greetings!

This project has shown me that "revitalization" happens in phases, in layers. Many of you have been reading about, (or been part of) layers of purging, cleaning, making repairs and construction.

Now, we are calling on everyone that has an eye, or concern, for the feel of the campus. Are you a camper? A visionary? Are you a parent of a camper? Do you have an eye for cleanliness and aesthetics? We need you here!

The construction is done, and now we need to work through the next layer to make it a home! We need volunteers to look at a room, or a wing, or a building and help take it all the way to ready.  There are mattresses to put on bed frames, classroom supplies to organize, curtain rods and curtains to hang in the windows and showers, outlet covers to attach, and all of the details you can imagine that would need to be done in your own home.

School is out! Does that mean we can get to 15,000 volunteer hours?  20,000?  We can use volunteer help anytime. (Work parties are not limited to Saturdays anymore!) Come by any day of the week, put in a few hours or a few days.

We know there is no better place in the world to host a Fine Arts Camp, and can't wait for it to be ready!

Keeping Momentum!

One or two hours a day can make a huge difference--

Adopt  a room, take on a specifc job, or help those that have!

This week volunteers put in 425 hours
toward revitalizing the SJ Campus
