The curtains have been hung in Odess Theater, the walls have been painted and the benches reupholstered in Yaw Chapel, the buildings are being power washed in preparation for a fresh coat of paint, and beautifully stained trim continues to be installed in Allen Hall. All of this incredible work is made possible by the team of hardworking volunteers who work tirelessly each Saturday to make our campus a better place. One of the thrilling things about the Sheldon Jackson Campus is that every time you enter a building it looks more beautiful than the last time you were there. A heartfelt thanks to all who have donated their time and energy to the campus and to our goal of making it a resource for the community and a vibrant destination for the arts in Alaska.
We are excited to announce the date for our fourth-annual 100 Volunteer Day. Join us on May 10th from 9am to 3pm to help get the campus ready for this summer and the 700+ students, faculty, staff, and interns who will visit Sitka over the course of two months. There will be a variety of jobs available all over campus, with something for every skill level. Tasks will include general cleaning, painting, landscaping/gardening, washing windows, and light carpentry among many more. As always, a delicious home cooked lunch will be served at noon for volunteers.
We hope that you will join us and we thank you for your continued support.
