What: Reception for the Sheldon Jackson School and College Oral History Project

Where: Allen Memorial Hall, Sheldon Jackson Campus

When: Saturday January 25th, 3pm-5pm

The Sheldon Jackson School and College Oral History Project aims to document the history of this school through oral history interviews with former students, staff and others. This reception is to present this ongoing project, as well as a short video and written history based on the interviews done so far. There will be coffee and cookies. We will also have historic photos, and we are looking for help in identifying the individuals pictured. This portion of the project is sponsored by Alaska Arts Southeast with support from the Alaska Humanities Forum and the National Endowment for the Humanities. More information, Rebecca at 747-3448 or rebecca_poulson@hotmail.com.

Looking Towards the Future

A special thank you to the Hames family for their recent donation of $5,000. Mary was a longtime board member, their children attended camp for many years, and their son Andrew now teaches as a part of our music faculty. We are looking forward to having the next generation of Hames children as campers soon, and we appreciate their continued support. Mary, Barbara, and Roger, thank you for sharing your love of the arts with Sitka and our camp community!
 Saturday Work Party: January 25th

Don't miss our Saturday Work Party tomorrow, January 25th, from 9am to 3pm meeting in Allen Hall. Volunteers can choose from a variety of activities including staining trim in Allen Hall, pressure washing buildings, and pulling up carpet and putting down flooring in Whitmore. A delicious lunch of halibut will be served for volunteers at noon in Sweetland Hall.
