for November, 2012

Dear Ones

Happy Thanksgiving.

Unity of Southeast Texas is so blessed to have each of you as part of our family.   Thank you for what you bring in the way of talents, gifts, and tithes.

If you were unable to attend the congregation meeting, we elected two new Board members - Diana Margaret and Julie King.  We welcome them to our Board.

We discussed ways to increase our income through renting out our building/buildings.

If you know people looking for a rental for events, the Nancy Amsden Building is available for rent.

It is possible that if a church wants to rent the sanctuary, we would rent it to them.    The big question about this is:  Are people willing to attend our services at a different time, if it is the only way we can rent the building?

The question remains open.  We will see what presents itself in the way of offers.  If you have questions feel free to speak with a board member.

Moving into Thanksgiving remember Hafiz's poem The Sun Never Says:

Even
After
All this time
The sun never says to the earth,
"You owe
Me."

Look
What happens
With a love like that,
It lights the
Whole
Sky.

Have a blessed and grateful Thanksgiving, remembering God's love for us is like the light of the sun always present.  Always shining that awesome Light.

In Oneness,

Rev. Sondra

Your Responsibility:

1)      On the Friday morning/afternoon of December 14, 2012, come to Tyrrell Park and decorate your 24' assigned section of the forest. (We are assigning sections according to first come, first serve. As we receive confirmation from your organization that you are participating, we will assign a section.)

2)      You will need to supply ALL of the decorations for your section, including, but not limited to: lights; wooden, metal, or blow up ornaments, Christmas trees, and other creative decorations.

3)      You will also need to supply a generator (marked with your name) and gasoline for the weekend to provide electricity to your assigned section.

4)      You may place a sign with your company or organization name/logo within your assigned section.

5)      You may provide 300-500 business cards, tri-fold brochures, or flyers (full page flyers are acceptable as long as they are folded in thirds) about your business or organization to be placed in a Sponsor Packet that will be given out to the families that attend the Festival.

HeartMath® De-Stress Workshop:

Simple Tools for Renewing Yourself

in These Stressful Times

Facilitated by

Licensed HeartMath Instructor Kathy Barrios

The HeartMath De-Stress Workshop is a practical, down-to-earth, program that teaches you specific skills for de-stressing and bringing more balance and ease into your daily challenges. These skills are especially useful for creating more effective communication, better relationships and self-confidence at home, work and in the community.

This program's success can be attributed largely to two of HeartMath's most effective self-regulation techniques, which provide simple and effective ways to shift into coherence; a state in which the heart, brain and nervous system are in a simultaneous state of relaxation, readiness and revitalization. This balanced state forms the foundation of both personal and family resilience.
