An amazing event happening in Cambridge this spring and we invite you to be a part of it-
The four-day, 16th Annual Do It Your Damn Self! National Youth Film and Video Festival is a unique opportunity for you to sponsor an event that brings together national and local communities from Cambridge, Greater Boston, the nation and the world to recognize the voices of contemporary youth.
DIYDS!!-- The Do It Your Damn Self!! National Youth Film and Video Festival
DIYDS!! is the longest-running youth-curated film and video festival in the country. Founded in 1996 by four Cambridge teens who felt unrecognized in the media, the festival weekend is a forum for youth to share their interest in using video to communicate issues that are relevant to them, and the opportunity for audiences to hear unique and vital voices from New England, the nation and the world.
Youth Innovation
DIYDS!! is curated by the Teen Media Program (TMP) at the Community Art Center in Central Square, Cambridge. The Community Art Center is an 80 year-old non-profit organization committed to cultivating an engaged community of youth whose powerful artistic voices transform their lives, their neighborhoods, and their worlds. Every year teens from TMP rise to the national stage and gain the leadership, networking, planning,
technological and problem solving skills they need to compete in the cultural economy outside their door. This year TMP curators selected 15 entries from over 100 submitted to be included in the festival reel.
Local and Global Visibility
DIYDS!! lets local audiences hear youth from around the country and world and brings international attention to the Teen Media Program as a strong and consistent voice for youth empowerment through creative technologies. Submissions this year included entries from across the nation as well as Spain, Portugal and Turkey.
The 16th Annual DIYDS!! Premiere Festival Screening will be held on May 18th at 7pm at the Microsoft Nerd Center in Cambridge.
Preview screenings and panels will take place at the Boston Public Library, MIT Bartos
Theater and Kennedy-Longfellow School in Cambridge. We expect nearly 1000 youth, teens, adult mentors, university faculty and students, corporate community members and technology professionals
from across New England and beyond to attend.

Custom Sponsorship Packages
DIYDS!! offers sponsorship packages to meet the needs of all our supporters. See our Sponsorship Opportunity Sheet and Ad Rate Sheet for options. Sponsorships help us pay for festival expenses and cover the travel and lodging expenses for our visiting producers. Corporate sponsors gain visibility through a variety of media including banners at the Microsoft NERD Center, ads in the festival program, listings in web pages with links, and online postings in social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter and more. Sponsors can take advantage of festival parties and events to entertain VIPs. Opportunities include placing an ad in our festival program, having your corporate logo on our festival DVD or T-Shirt, and the display of your corporate banner at the Microsoft NERD Center. All festival sponsors will receive free tickets to the Saturday evening Premiere and the after party. Tickets for the Premiere at can be purchased at communityartcenter.org.
