Custodial Staff Win Award
|
Buddy Phillips, head custodian, and his staff of 17 work tirelessly to keep the Parkview campus, not only safe and clean, but a standout learning and teaching environment for students and faculty. Their efforts were recognized this week by Gwinnett County Public School who awarded them the Exemplary Custodial Staff of the Year award. Mr. Phillips was named Head Custodian of the Year.
The awards were based on at least two major inspections of the campus at midyear and again late in the spring when they are judged on over 100 issues. Each school must work to achieve a passing score of 90. The Parkview custodial staff surpassed all others this year to win this award.
We congratulate and thank them for the wonderful job they do here every day to make Parkview High School the best of the best.

Relay for Life
|
Members of Parkview Relay for Life team have worked hard this year to raise over $5500 to celebrate the life of cancer survivors and remember those who remain in our memories. On April 29th, we participated in the Lilburn Relay Rally and did free face paint for children that attended. It was an awesome precursor to the Relay for Life of Gwinnett event held May 13th.
Held over night at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, it was an incredible experience and opportunity to cheer on those who are fighting the battle with cancer and be moved by the many faces of those who are affected. Put it on your calendar to support and join us next year May 12th, 2017 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds.

Senior Letters and Breakfast 2016
Each year the sophomore class hosts a breakfast for the seniors shortly before the end of the school year. This year we will continue the tradition on Friday, May 20, at 6:45 a.m. in the Parkview Football Stadium if weather permits. Alternate location in the event of rain is the old gym. The attire is business casual.
To mark the occasion, we ask that parents, teachers, and fellow students send letters to the graduates who are important to them. On the morning of the breakfast, students pick up their individual packet of letters and read the thoughtful messages they receive. Gathering together with classmates in this way provides seniors with a unique opportunity to share special memories from their four years of high school. Please help make this a special event for our seniors by sending a letter to a friend, sibling, son or daughter, or student who is graduating. Please use standard letter-size envelopes, and do not include bulky enclosures or packages. Include the student's legal first and last name on the outside of the envelope. Seniors, your letters can be turned in at the Main Office (downstairs in Building M) or in the Media Center. Parents, you may drop your notes off at the Parkview Main Office, or mail your notes to the following address: Your Senior's Legal First and Last Name (no nicknames) c/o Mrs. Lisa Newberry Parkview High School 998 Cole Road Lilburn, Georgia 30047 In order to make this letter exchange possible, members of the sophomore class volunteer to sort and file these envelopes. Since the amount of letters we receive makes this process very time-consuming, we ask that your letters arrive no later than Wednesday, May 11th, 2016. Due to volume and time constraints, we will be unable to print emailed messages. We will only file envelopes sent to Parkview High School or dropped off at the school by the deadline. The sophomore class extends its congratulations to all graduating seniors and their families!
