Over the past year we have started sending all of our steel frames to a professional sandblast company. This is where they strip off all the grit and rust from the steel to make a clean surface for powder coat finish. Sandblasting is where someone gets dressed up in a protective suit with a mask for protection and spray very fine bits of material at a high-velocity to clean or etch a surface. Proper ventilation is important as particles that become airborne can be inhaled. Sand is the most commonly used material, but now they can also use walnut shells and even coconut shells. The abrasive material is projected with an air compressor and a blaster nozzle. 

We take old rusty parts and revive them to a state of new and then finish the piece with the most durable paint finish on the market, powder coat.  After all the rust is removed this is what is left, a primer gray looking frame. Then we send it to powder coat and have it finished in virtually any color.
