We are glad to report that we had a great show in Denver. This was our first show in 8 months and we really needed it to be good. It's not like we have been laying around doing nothing, however, we have been busy filling orders, though our shows still prove to be our best venue. We have found that people really need to experience the chairs and they can only do that when we get out to these kinds of venues.
After the Denver show, we started working on 7 sets of furniture for the Goldenstein Gallery in Sedona, AZ. This will be an impressive sight to see with so much furniture in front of the gallery. This order was so big that I (Jill) have taken my hand to the shop. Wow! I never realized how many steps go into building our furniture. I have helped here and there, but this time I was drilling rocks, moving rocks, putting rocks together, and assisting in many of the other numerous steps that go into creating stone furniture.
I started documenting everything so I can eventually calculate how much goes into the entire process. Dwayne is very meticulous at building and takes a lot of pride in his work. He will not skip any steps in making his furniture and it really shows in the final product.
He was able to escape the shop and spend an enjoyable Father's Day with the girls and his son fishing. We have 3 lakes in our association that we can fish. Just down the road in Red Feather there are 13 lakes for the true fish lover.

What are Fans are Saying:
In regard to my "To Cushion or Not to Cushion" article I received this response: "Don't dare put a cushion on your chairs. They are amazingly comfortable without a cushion, and I don't even have the extra padding some people do. I got to see your chairs in Dallas at a DSC show over a year ago. If I didn't book a big hunt I might have come away with some of your furniture. I am a big fan and am eager to get some ordered. I just wish I had the beautiful, rock patio, and great view they naturally belong in."

Dwayne's Artist Statement: My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The stone added to discarded steel results in functional furniture inspired by Mother Nature. They are not only weatherproof, but integrate easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty.

We have the trailer loaded and are getting ready to head to AZ. On the way out, we will stop and see the Grand Canyon. This will be a new experience for the girls. Then we will make a stop at the Grandparents for a couple of days. Next month we will be showing you some super cool new furniture in a different medium, wood. Using the beetle kill wood from this area we have reworked our wood design and are excited to debut it to you next month. Also debuting next month will be the new paint studio that we have been building. This will be a space for the girls in the family to create. Working in all kinds of mediums ranging from painting, photography and more, which will translate into Mixed Media. This is such a fun medium to work in because you can take all these mediums and put it into one work of art. Lots to look forward to in the next letter. Until next month, enjoy the lazy days of summer!

* We have finally tried using a new shipping company. Over the years we have been
loyal to FedEx, but we found we can get lower rates with a shipping broker. This way we can pass the savings along to our clients.
