We are celebrating our 10th Year Anniversary. Our unique business is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and has found a niche creating outdoor furniture that can withstand all the elements Mother Nature throws at it. We have had a rocky ride, from our humble beginnings in a small shed, where Dwayne built each piece by hand, to putting stone furniture in homes in almost every state across America. Perhaps one of our biggest accomplishments is that while other businesses struggled or closed during the recession, Stone 2 Furniture® held rock solid.
Over the years we have met celebrities on the way including Steve Kanaly of the soap opera fame Dallas and a sneak peek at "Dog" the Bounty Hunter. While visiting Mt. Rushmore with the Horse Sculptures in tow, Dwayne met Marinka the daughter of one of his favorite artist Korczak Ziolkowski, the creator of the Crazy Horse Memorial.
Dwayne outdid his fifteen minutes of fame with a 30 minute segment on the DIY Network television show Rock Solid. Stone 2 Furniture® has also been featured in over 30 articles in publications throughout the United States. Dwayne has done numerous television and radio interviews. Adding to our long list of great customers, Stone 2 Furniture® sold a deep seating set to Colorado Congressman Bob Beauprez. We also proudly furnished the courtyard at Best Western Pioneer in Lusk, Wyoming.
Over the past 10 years we have done a lot of traveling back and forth from fine art festivals across the country and have experienced adventures from tire blow outs, to fuel pumps dying on the road, to picking up an 80 year old cyclist on the top of Independence Pass and bringing him back down. One of the most memorable moments was at a gas station in the small town of Lamar when local press showed up to photograph the company's furniture and life-sized horse sculpture. This happened again in Wall, South Dakota when the owner of the hotel we were staying at called the local newspaper and the reporters of the Pennington County Courant showed up to take pictures of the horses and interview us. We were featured the next day on the front page of the paper sporting a great picture of Chisel.
From a rocky start (pun intended) 10 years ago to currently making a piece of furniture every 3 days, we have withstood the test of time. We continue to hold a unique spot in the outdoor furniture industry providing high-end luxury furniture and functional art, to people who don't just want to sit in their outdoor furniture, but rather enjoy how it makes them feel and how it complements the environment while not harming it.
