March 3, 2014
Dear Saddleback Ski Patrol Friends,
Happy 2014 and welcome back to another Saddleback winter!
It is that time of year when we are preparing for our annual Saddleback Ski Patrol auction. This year it will be held on Saturday March 15, 2014. Similar to last year, the auction will be held in the Swig and Smelt towards the end of the skiing/boarding day.
As a friend and past supporter of the Saddleback Ski Patrol, we wanted to take a few minutes and share with you what your generosity and contributions have made possible.
Last year's auction money has allowed us to restock necessary medical supplies that assist us in maintaining our high standard of emergency medical care to the sick and injured riders/skiers. And, for the first time, we purchased important equipment that will assist us with necessary search and rescue missions. These items include headlamps, strobe lights, ice axes, portable power packs, and crampons for multiple kinds of ski/ride boots. These additional resources will assist us on these expeditions to move quicker and safer over more varied terrain.
Still, on a limited operating budget for equipment and training, we remain optimistic that you may consider the continuance of your support by assisting Patrol in the purchase of the following critically needed items:
- Replacement of rescue snowmobile - estimated used sled cost, $5,000
- Purchase of a new rescue toboggan - $1,350
- Purchase of a new airway suction unit - $750
Each financial contribution brings us closer to our goals and every little bit helps significantly.
In the event you are unable to attend the auction, but would still like to support Patrol, please consider donating an item for the auction. Thanks to you and folks like you, we have had some terrific donations in the past that have helped make the event not only profitable, but lively and fun! With your help, we look forward to continuing this tradition this year.
On behalf of the Saddleback Ski Patrol, your support is deeply appreciated. We are proud to be affiliated with the Saddleback family of employees and valued guests. We look forward to many continued years of service to Saddleback!
With sincere gratitude and warm regards,
Jared Emerson, Patrol Director jemerson@saddlebackmaine.com and Shelby Rousseau, First Aid Room
