NATIONAL SKI PATROL RECOGNIZES SADDLEBACK SKI PATROLLERS

This past weekend, the Saddleback Ski Patrol hosted their annual refresher course. Over 40 patrollers reviewed skills and techniques in Outdoor Emergency Management in preparation for the coming ski season. During the event, John Kane of the National Ski Patrol Maine Division, presented Jim Quimby, Saddleback Mountain Manager, and Jared Emerson, Saddleback Mountain Operations Manager, Certificates of Appreciation for their service and support of Ski Patrol. A special Certificate of Appreciation for years of service going above and beyond the call of duty in support of Ski Patrol was awarded to long time Saddleback Ski Patroller Don Emerson. Don is the father of Jared Emerson.

L to R: Jared, Don and Paul Emerson

At one time, three generations of Emersons served on the Saddleback Ski Patrol: Paul Emerson, Don Emerson and Jared Emerson. Given the amount of time Joseph, Lily, Wesley and Henry Emerson spend at Saddleback, we may have four generations of Emerson ski patrollers in our future.

TERRAIN PARK UPDATES
Saddleback Park Week 13
Check out this great video
from 2013!
Spencer Mendell has begun the process of updating our terrain park features, preparing for a new year in our Freerider Terrain Park. Mendell, along with Chase Shaw, Paul Friedman and Jared Emerson, attended the annual Cutters' Camp East: a gathering of terrain park managers, designers, cutters, athletes and marketers, to spend time discussing the design, building, maintaining, and management of pipes, terrain parks and rail parks. They worked with experts from the field and participated in workshop sessions and open forum discussions to share their ideas and learn new skills for the enhancement of features in our exciting terrain parks.
