It has arrived! Saddleback has a new Piston Bully 600 Winch Cat. The 2013 SnowEast reader survey named Saddleback #1 for Gooming in the EAST. This new Winch Cat is a faster, more powerful and more fuel-efficient machine. You can expect more great grooming on Saddleback for the coming season.

TRAIL RUN AT FALL FESTIVAL

Saddleback is partnering with Rangeley Health and Wellness to offer a TRAIL RUN on Sunday, September 22, 2013, 9:30 AM, as part of Saddleback's Fall Festival. This challenging 4 mile run starts and finishes at the Saddleback Base Lodge with over 4,000 feet of vertical change. Age classes are Male and Female 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. Pre Registration fee is $20. ($25.00 the day of the race). Pre-register online here.  After your run enjoy food, drink and live music on the deck! Proceeds from the race will help support the Rangeley Health & Wellness Partnership.

Saddleback's Fall Festival is Sunday, September 22nd, from 10-3. It's a day full of family activities and demonstrations, an arts and crafts fair and a Ski Swap. There will be toys and pumpkins for the kids, a delicious BBQ, live music on the deck and a pie-eating contest. There will be aTrail Run hosted by Rangeley Health and Wellness (see above more more info) ... AND it's the last day to buy your Season Pass at  pre-season prices. NEW HIKING TRAIL LOOP STARTS AT THE BASE LODGE
These gorgeous fall days are perfect for hiking, and thanks to the High Peaks Alliance there's a new hiking loop starting at the base lodge. You'll hike to the summit of Saddleback along the Wheeler, Gray Ghost and Tricolor trails, then SW on the Appalachian Trail, NW along ITS 84/89, and then NE back to the base lodge along the Fly Rod Crosby Trail. It's a challenging 6.1 mile hike; plan on 5-6 hours to complete. Download the map here.
