Nice Comment from one of our guests:
I am a US Marine stationed in HI between tours to Afghanistan. I have skied Saddleback for a few years, and it has a special place in my heart. I returned from Afghanistan New Years, and on my first day back at work, I found out that I was heading back this spring for 14-17 months to close the door (we can only pray) on that place. The first thing I did was book a week-long trip from HI to Saddleback so that I could share my love for the place with my wife and daughters.
When I booked the trip, less than half the trails were open, and it looked like it could be another thin year. Then the snow started coming, and it never stopped. Our first day skiing was the same Monday described above, and we could not have picked a better week to go.
The girls found out quickly why Saddleback has such a special place in my heart. However, I am certain that it could have been thin and brutally cold and icy, and they still would have felt that same love, for there is a vibe at Saddleback like no other. That vibe comes from the spirit of the mountain, but it is radiated by the people who work there and ski there. You have to go there to really drink it in, and once you do, you will come back again and again.

We were all relieved to see that the missing teen at Sugarloaf and the two adult skiers at Saddleback who went out of bounds were safely rescued thanks to the efforts of many volunteers, the Ski Patrol and the Maine Warden Service.  It is a reminder to ski safely, with a buddy and within your ability.
