Wishing you bundles of joy in 2013
2012 is a wrap! So is our "5th Annual Sweaters For Seniors" as seen on CBS Atlanta.
(Click the underlined bold words above to see it on CBS!)
In addition to collecting hundreds of woolly items, "Sweaters" creates awareness for the needs of seniors. It also brings our community together with help from:
- Our AHCS friends & neighbors who took the time to bring sweaters to our office
- Gwinnett Council for Seniors (GCS), our first ever co-sponsor
- Gwinnett Parks & Recs, collection partner recruited by Rosalind Bennett at GCS
- Norcross High School senior and Girl Scout, Maya Kelkar, who hand-crocheted and oversaw the creation of more than 50 lap blankets
- Tracye Hutchins, Anchorperson, CBS Atlanta "Better Mornings," who took time from her hectic schedule to come to our office and do a feature on "Sweaters"
- Neurostudies.net, collection partner
- Last but not least, Gwinnett County Senior Services who warehouses and distributes the sweaters and blankets to seniors on an as-needed basis
Thanks for making our 5th Annual Sweaters For Seniors another warm & fuzzy success!
