It's Tick Season.

The best tick protection is to avoid tick habitat such as the high grasses. Mowed lawns in urban areas have the least population of ticks and fleas.

No matter what protocol used for tick prevention, both tick checks and combing should be performed daily with a fine toothed comb.

Some find using a lint brush after each outing useful for picking up loose ticks or fleas.

Topical spray deterrents such as CedarCide can reduce the number of ticks and fleas that stay on the animals.

It is said to safe to use on lawns.

The cedar oil is kills and repels fleas and ticks. It claims to be safe on humans and pets.

Best of all the cedar smell is pleasant.

For dogs at higher risk for fleas and ticks, an oral prevention may be the best choice.

NexGard kills fleas 4 in 8 hours and 4 species of ticks in 48 hours.

A free sample is available for those interested in the product.

Topical applications of Frontline are still popular for dogs and cats.

A once a month application kills both fleas and ticks.

It is easy to apply monthly with few side effects. It remains topical in the oils of the skin, it is not absorbed systemically.
The shoulder roll is an easy technique to relax the back and shoulder blades. With tension or pain the trapezius muscle pulls the shoulder blades upwards.
