The Express
Roseburg First United Methodist Church
The week of June 26
Engage God... Engage One Another... Engage Life!

Another Annual Conference session has come and gone and summer is officially here! While the reading of appointments is not filled with unexpected surprises like it used to be, I was quite pleased when my appointment to Roseburg was "fixed" for another year.  Another year to share the Christian walk together.  Another year to grow in personal and social holiness.  Another year to strengthen our connection with the community around us.  I'm delighted and eager to move on.

This summer I'm preaching a series of sermons on Paul's letter to the Galatians.  This little 6-chapter book has had a profound impact on the Christian faith.  I'm calling it "Grasping the Gospel" and it starts this Sunday.  Why was Paul so angry when he wrote the letter?  What does it have to say to Christians living in today's world?  Let's work through it together and see what gifts it has to offer our faith.

This issue of the Express provides an update for the next week's happenings around Roseburg's First United Methodist Church.  If this weekly newsletter comes as a surprise to you, it's probably because we've added you to the mailing list!  If you don't want to receive the Weekly Express every Thursday, simply scroll to the bottom of the page to use the SafeUnsubscribe option.  Uncheck the Weekly Express and you'll no longer receive it

The hope, of course, is that you'll stay with us and up to date on all the great things going on in and through this church!

Blessings -
Pastor Scott Harkness
