These Bibles will be given to each young person to keep.  If you are interested in helping to support this endeavor, please put a monetary donation in the offering plate. Donations can also be received at the church office.  If you have any questions, please call Doreen 541-671-8399.
ENGAGE ONE ANOTHER
Traveling Tables and Game Night Groups
In December I started organizing groups of individuals who wanted to get together for dinners and/or for a game night. I was out of the office from  January to late March so everything was put on hold.  I'm just starting to get back to that project and find some of our congregation who had volunteered to be leaders last year have had life changes to the point they could not host a dinner or game night at this time.  I'm looking for people who would be willing to be a host or hostess  to either of these groups.  I still have the signup sheets so we have people who wanted to attend but no one to coordinate the first meetings.  I have enough people for at least 2 Game Night groups and 2-3 Home Dinner groups. Would you like to be involved?  You would need to be able to seat at least 7-8 people.  It's actually a great time to start because we have great weather and you could host something unique in the park or the back yard of the church. Please contact me.  I'd be happy to help you get started.  Doreen 541-671-8399

The Art Garage "Dream Team"
June 7, 5:30 p.m.
Fellowship Hall

I'm looking for anyone who would be interested in a one-time meeting to DREAM about the future of the Art Garage Ministry.  I'm looking for men, women and teens. I know what the Art Garage has been in Dillard but I want to dream about what it could be in Roseburg. The Art Garage ministry is about recycling, a thrift shop, art classes and building relationships with others in our community.  It's a BIG ministry with lots of moving parts. With the Dillard Winston UMC closing its doors in a month, we want to find a place for this ministry to blossom and grow in another location. It can become anything we can dream it to be. We do not have to be confined to what it was in the past.

If you think the Art Garage is for a bunch of old ladies who like to knit or make cards, you are VERY wrong.  We build things out of PVC pipe, use old bottles to make bird feeders, use wood scraps to make garden features. This week I made two bird feeders out of old lamps and bowls.  I'm working on making some larger garden features with PVC pipe such as tomato guards and a watering system.  We need men to be involved in the Art Garage. Gardening, work working, making useable objects out of recycled scraps, building and more. What can you invent? What can you teach?  How big can you dream?

I have planned games and other activities to help us let down our barriers and allow us to dream to the fullest. Be prepared for lots of fun and laughter as we share ideas, have contests between tables, and enjoy creativity.

Our meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall on June 7th at 5:30 p.m. Please bring a snack or hor d'oeuvres to share since this meeting is during the dinner hour.  Coffee and water will be provided.

Coming to this meeting does not mean you have to volunteer in any other way. I simply want to hear your ideas. Please call me if you have any questions. 541-671-8399.
