The Express
Roseburg First United Methodist Church
The week of February 28
Engage God... Engage One Another... Engage Life!

It is always a joy to receive new members into the fellowship of the congregation and into the connection of The United Methodist Church. We have the privilege of welcoming new members THIS SUNDAY MORNING between our two worship services during The Bridge in the Fellowship Hall.  Whether you will be staying for a few moments after Flipside Worship or arriving a few moments before the Sanctuary Worship, please come into the Fellowship Hall for the brief ceremony and to personally welcome our newest members.

If you are interested in learning more about the covenant of membership, let Pastor Scott know and he will schedule another "Top Ten List for Membership" session.

This issue of the Express provides an update for the next week's happenings around Roseburg's First United Methodist Church.  If this weekly newsletter comes as a surprise to you, it's probably because we've added you to the mailing list!  If you don't want to receive the Weekly Express every Thursday, simply scroll to the bottom of the page to use the SafeUnsubscribe option.  Uncheck the Weekly Express and you'll no longer receive it

The hope, of course, is that you'll stay with us and up to date on all the great things going on in and through this church!

Hope you'll join us in worship on Sunday -

Pastor Scott Harkness

CONNECT Youth Activities During Lent
The Alphas are conducting a Social Media Campaign: "Spreading Kindness like Confetti." Like us on FACEBOOK (Spreading Kindness like Confetti Project) and follow us on INSTAGRAM (@scatter.kindness.confetti) Be sure to use the hashtag: #kindnessconfettiYOUTH. Links to our pages will be on www.faithroseburg.org. Post a picture or tell a story about how you did a random act of kindness, or if you saw someone do an act of kindness in your community. Write your post and share it to our Instagram or Facebook page and tag your friends! Let's make this scatter out into the state and across the country! We are encouraging our youth to be the change and make a difference in the world. We are collaborating with Roseburg High School. Our Alphas are challenged to post every day during Lent:
making an Act of Kindness a purposeful and intentional act, as a way of participating in Lent. However, this project can go on as long as people are acting kind to one another.
