2016 Flower Chart
The new Flower Chart calendar for 2016 is hanging on  the Narthex bulletin board. Sign up to have flowers on the altar for Sunday morning worship in honor of or in memory of an occasion.
Once you have signed up for a date, Judy Dake will contact you one week prior to your date to see if you will provide flowers yourself or would like her to make an arrangement for you.

Lenten Quest Engaging Faith Team
The next Engaging Faith Discipleship Season is the season of Lent, which begins with Ash Wednesday on February 10 and ends with Easter Sunday on March 27. This spiritually rich season of prayer and service, reflection and preparation will be planned by the LentenQuest team, which Pastor Scott will assemble soon. The team will meet on Tuesday, January 19  from 3:15-5:00pm in the chapel. We'd love new ideas and fresh perspectives. Would you like to participate on this short-term team? Faith Groups and Classes          
 
Mustard Seed Ministry for children meets this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  Children ages 3-9 meet in Room 18.  Tween Time for ages 10-12 meet in the chapel.  For more information please call Sheila Goodman at 503-459-1780 or Anne Moore at 541-673-3231.  

CONNECT Youth 
No youth group this Sunday.  Regular meetings will resume next week.

Bible Study Opportunity
We have a Wednesday 11:00am Bible study that meets in the church lounge and is open to anyone who wants to come. We are reading and discussing the Gospel of Mark.  The next class will be January 27.  

Stuck Class 
Join Doreen Barlow at noon on Tuesdays in the chapel for the 6 week study "Stuck".  The class is scheduled for this Tuesday, but please call the church office at 541-672-1629 to double check if it is happening this week due to Doreen's injury. 
ENGAGE ONE ANOTHER
Fellowship Opportunities This Week

Prayer Shawl Ministry, normally scheduled for this Monday, will not meet until February.

Wanted:  Car to Borrow
Doreen Barlow fell and broke her right arm this week.  Her car is a stick shift so she will need to borrow an automatic until her arm is out of the cast.  If you can help please contact the church office at 541-672-1629.  Thanks!
Traveling Tables-The Lunch Bunch

Friendly Kitchen

Meals on Wheels of Roseburg/The Friendly Kitchen serves lunch in the Fellowship Hall weekdays between 11:30 and noon.  Anyone 60 yrs. and over or disabled may receive a meal. A $3.00 donation per meal is requested. A meal will be served on Monday, Martin Luther King Day. 

John Nilsen Concert to Benefit FISH Food Pantry January 30
Mark your calendars to attend this special concert by award-winning Portland pianist John Nilsen on Saturday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.  Suggested donation:  2 or more canned food items and $10 at the door.  A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the FISH emergency food pantry.

Remember to bring your food donations for the FISH Food Pantry to church each Sunday. Place your donations in the FISH Chuck Wagon near the entrance.  These are the suggested food item(s).

  • January 24:  Dried foods:  pastas, beans, dried fruit, etc.
 

Opportunities to Serve

  • Would you like to serve as a Scripture reader, worship assistant at the 10:30 a.m. sanctuary service, sound tech or projectionist? Please contact the church office- we can arrange training and put you on the schedule. Thanks!
  • Sign up this Sunday to volunteer for the RFUMC table at the Saturday Farmers' Market. Volunteers are needed. Sign-up sheets are on the Welcome Tables.
  • Would you like to serve as a greeter/usher coordinator?  Contact the church office.
