Where to Get Information on Scouting Activities

Our Online Calendar, District Newsletters, the News Page on our Website are Your Primary Information Sources

By Tim McCandless, Scout Executive

Tim McCandless

You need information on activities and programs in Scouting and we want to deliver it to you in the fastest, most effective possible method.  Use these resources for information on Scouting:

  • Our Online Calendar is the one stop place for dates, times, location, and details about upcoming meetings and activities for your district and the council.  Visit www.nwscouts.org and click on "Calendar" along the top menu bar.  Use the drop down menu under the "Show Activities for:" title to select council activities or your district activities.  If you want to see both district and council activities on the same calendar, click on "Select Other Calendars" then put a check on your district AND on "Inland Northwest Council".  You can register for most activities online by using the online calendar, then selecting the activity you want.
  •  Your district produces a monthly e-newsletter that we link to below. Read your district newsletter each month for information on upcoming activities, trainings, and other resources.
  • Visit our council website for "Featured News" on the homepage and click on "News" on the top menu bar for all current news items.  "Featured News" has the most recent and significant news items that will appeal to the most unit leaders.  The full "News" page has ALL current news items.
  • And, of course, use this monthly e-Inlander, The Inlander, as your primary source of monthly news on Scouting.  Be sure to read your district newsletter!

Messengers of Peace is a global initiative designed to inspire millions of young men and women in more than 220 countries and territories to work toward peace.  Using state-of-the-art social media, the initiative lets Scouts from around the world share community service projects that they've done and inspire fellow Scouts to undertake similar efforts in their own communities. The initiative is inspired by the World Scout Committee, administered by the World Scout Bureau, and driven by youth volunteers worldwide.

Top Seller of the Inland Northwest Council

Frazier Sells $7200 in Popcorn

Eagle Scout Bryce Frazier of Troop 308, chartered by St. Joseph Catholic Church, is once again the top popcorn salesman of the year! This is the sixth year in a row Bryce has claimed top seller.
Bryce, age 14, has been selling popcorn since he started Scouting as a Tiger Cub Scout. Each year, he has exceeded the previous year's sales.

How does he do it? He has built a loyal customer base over the years. Each customer he delivers popcorn to receives a thank you note from Bryce. In fact, nearly all of his customers buy exclusively from him.

Bryce will be recognized at Scout Night with the Chiefs on December 15th as top salesman along with other Scouts who sold at least $1000 to join the first ever $1000 club.
