Another Pronunciation Tip
dictionary

We all know that English is fraught with pronunciation and spelling challenges. Here is another tip to help you decipher some of the mysteries.

The letter combinations "oi" and "oy" sound alike. The "oi" spelling is usually found in the middle of words, and the "oy" spelling typically occurs at the end. Of course, there will be exceptions to this rule. Check out our blog with word lists.

In the News

medical-team-portrait.jpg Our article, Improving Communication Skills in Healthcare, was published in ASHA's peer reviewed December Perspectives Journal. Click here to read a summary. We thank Lorna Sikorski for inviting us to share our expertise in this publication and for all of her hard work coordinating this effort.  For those interested, we have a link to the complete article at the end of the summary.

Malaprops and Verbal Missteps

Here is another verbal misstep we heard this month:

"I changed my mind and did a 360."

If you change your mind and do a 360 (degrees), you end up at the same place. Instead, the expression is "I did a 180." Don't confuse this with "360 evaluations" at work, when you are evaluated by all levels of management, e.g., manager, team members, direct reports, etc.
Do You Love Lucy?

Thanks to our colleague, Laura Larsen-Stevovich, for sharing this great "I Love Lucy" video on LinkedIn! We know you'll love it!
