New Survey for Medical Interpreter Trainers
Marjorie and Lynda will be presenting at the International Medical Interpreters (IMIA) Trainer's Symposium in Durham, North Carolina the first weekend of September. In preparation for our presentation, we are disseminating a brief 10 question survey to Medical Interpreter TRAINERS. If you are an interpreter trainer, or know anyone who is, please take a few moments to complete the survey before July 15th, or share it with colleagues. We will send out the results in a future newsletter. We are interested in seeing how an accent/pronunciation difference is perceived by trainers vs. medical interpreters in healthcare contexts. International Students at American Universities
Many of clients are graduate and post-doctoral students studying at American universities. Last year, we wrote a blog about how difficult it is for some to adjust to a completely different educational setting. An interesting article in the Boston University alumnae magazine touches on a similar point. Click here to read more.
