  Hello! What's happening?
 
 
 First of all, our hearts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. We hope you and all your loved ones are doing well through this trying time. Here is a very simple and clever way to donate directly to relief efforts.

 

   Now that Halloween is over and all our store decorations are down (you may have noticed that we LOVE Halloween at Stars) up goes our fall decor until Thanksgiving (that is the holiday between Halloween and Christmas that seems to be forgotten). Honestly, if we could make a fifth season to decorate for--WE WOULD!
 
 

Next, you will see Christmas in all its glory at Stars. In the meantime, be sure to check out Little Boxes on Black Friday. Stars is once again proud to be part of this amazing local shopping promotion. More INFO.

Of course, Decemberville is coming back to our neighborhood Saturday, December 1st. We love to shop locally when possible.

The final item below is an important bit of information for you on some big changes that Facebook made recently which, unfortunately, impact Stars and ALL other small businesses. Please read the info below and spread the word!! We appreciate your help so much.

We are excited to once again be participating in Little Boxes. This Portland-wide Black Friday shopping event has over 145 local shops this year and promotes shopping locally very wonderfully. There will even be an AMAZING prize raffle!

Decemberville 2012    
Decemberville is returning the first Saturday of December!!! There will be singers & juggling elves. There will also be awesome sales throughout our fantastic neighborhoods. There will be pedicabs and even a stretch limo to get around the hood. So many things packed into one day!

PLEASE take a minute to change your settings-we want to keep chatting with you. And we don't want you to miss out on fun events, wonderful new things and giveaways. It's easy--just a couple steps below.

We're letting you know this because Facebook now requires small businesses to pay to promote their updates if we want our content to be seen by our fans. If we do not pay to promote our posts, only about 10% of our fans receive the updates on their Facebook home page feed.
 
HOW TO KEEP FOLLOWING SHOPS YOU LOVE
To keep RECEIVING ALL POSTS FROM US you have to hover your mouse on the "Like" button near our name. In the drop-down menu select "ADD TO INTEREST LISTS". Then create an interest list (and make a name for your favorite sites-we created one called "Portland Business" for instance). When you select that interest list you will see ALL of our posts and you won't miss anything important!

We recommend that you follow the above instructions for ANY and ALL Facebook pages you care about, so you can continue seeing all the posts from the pages you love. THANK YOU!

We were out "junking" a couple of weeks ago when we came upon this thrift store.  I didn't find much to buy but I sure love these signs. They wouldn't sell them, but of course we had to ask. :)
