The Holiday Countdown Begins

This Friday Night
Jordan Ross has been published in Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Wine Enthusiast, and many more.
A true world traveler - this is your opportunity to talk with an expert and share his selections in an informal manner.
In the early '80's, Jordan was a stockbroker on Wall Street. To alleviate his frustration in a declining market, he began to develop an unquenchable interest in wine.
In 1985, Jordan left Wall Street and enrolled at the University of California at Davis School of Enology & Viticulture. After completing winemaking internships at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards and Acacia Winery, he graduated in 1989 and began a successful career in the wine business. Jordan traveled within France to Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, the Loire, the Rhone, Argentina, Chile, Germany, Tuscany and Piedmont to learn first hand from some of the greatest names in the world.
This Friday night we will taste several wines that he has personally selected from the prestigious Domaines Barons De Rothschild portfolio.

Los Vascos Reserve
Los Vascos Grande Reserve is a benchmark for elegance and finesse in Chile. A blend consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, it is produced using traditional vinification and maturing techniques.
The wine is characterized by the complexity and persistence of its bouquet of cherries and blackcurrants (Cabernet Sauvignon), strawberries (Malbec), raspberries (Syrah) and plums, with notes of bay leaves and black pepper.
|
Amancaya
Amancaya, presents a harmonious balance between the Argentine and Bordeaux styles. The wine is more fruity due to the higher percentage of Malbec and shorter ageing.
The word AMANCAYA is the native Indian name of a flower found at high altitudes in the Andes in the Mendoza area.

Lucien Albrecht Brut Rose
One of the most famous names in Alsace wine circles is Albrecht. Generations of Albrecht family members have been growing grapes and crafting wine in the region dating all the way back to 1520, when Thibault Albrecht founded the business.
Alsace is situated in the northeast corner of France, but the winemaking style is heavily influenced by neighboring Germany. The Pinot Noir grapes grown there are crafted into very light, almost rosé-style wines, and some of the Pinot fruit also is used to make a sparkling wine known as Cremant d'Alsace.
Lucien Albrecht's rendition of that bubbly treat is quite fresh, ever so slightly sweet and brimming with personality. Chill it down, and serve it with Sunday brunch fare or even Spanish tapas for a true multi-cultural culinary experience.

Ancho Reyes Liqueur
Ancho Reyes is born from the sacred earth of Puebla,
Mexico. An original liquid as unique and independent as the ancho chile from which it is made - since 1927.
Deep bronze hue with medium body and high viscosity. Slightly pungent, followed by dried chile notes, spices, cinnamon, cocoa, tamarind, and wet wood with light herbal notes adding to the complexity.
Completely different. Pleasantly sweet, followed by chile with moderate heat and slight acidity. Hints of spices, tamarind, plum, cacao, apple and almonds then subtle notes of fine herbs. A pleasantly lingering pungent taste on the finish. Use it to make extraordinary cocktails or sip it on its own. Each bottle comes with a free sample of Milagro Anejo tequila.
